Mathew Ming joins Woking HC from Old Georgians

Woking Hockey Club is pleased to announce that Mathew Ming will join the Men’s Section from Old Georgians HC for the 2020-21 season.

On joining the club Ming said,

“I’m really excited and happy to be joining Woking. The club and I have a good history from my junior development in hockey. With clear ambitions in the men’s section I’m really excited for the challenge.”

Looking forward to Woking’s participation in the South Premier West next season, Ming added,

“With the club playing in the South Premier next year it will be a great step for me to help develop young players, knowing that it is the right club environment akin to what I had as a junior member progressing up the club. I am looking forward to working with my teammates old and new at Woking, contributing to a team with clear vision”.

Director of Men’s Coaching & Men’s 1s coach Ryan Casson said,

"I am delighted that Matt has agreed to join us at Woking this season as we look to build toward delivering our 5-year strategy to move up the South League structure. As a former Woking player in his junior development, Matt understands the club, its values and its desire to progress and nurture developing talent.
Matt was our principal target this summer; a player who is especially comfortable in possession and mirrors the positive way we aim to play from all over the pitch. He has consistently impressed at all levels he has played; his national premier league experience will prove invaluable in helping develop the team platform, giving us a strong base upon which to build this season's challenge”.
