Woking vs Guildford

Woking of to a good start in cup triangular at Epsom
The girls travelled to Epsom to a not so easy to find pitch that caused a bit of confusion as it was on a building site. With parent perseverance a full squad all got there ready to play their best in the cup competition. Guildford were up first and the girls started well soon taking control of the match. After some sustained pressure Woking broke the deadlock with a goal in just 2mins 39 seconds. No one was as surprised it went in as the goal scorer Cara, as it trickled over the line!
This seemed to wake the Guildford team up and with even play resulting in 5 attacks each no one could guess which way the game was going to go.
In the second half Guildford came out strong and dominated the initial 10mins. But our girls were to prove resilient and came back with 4 good attacks resulting in 2 short corners but unfortunately no goals. Play was fast and furious with unfortunately Katy ending up with a ball to the face. Our girls are made of strong stuff and it was not long before she was back on the pitch.
A few nervous moments near the end but Woking held on for the victory and a great start to the day. A well deserved win.
Martins player of the match- Cara.
