A packed hockey club with over 40 people and 8 teams enjoyed the Charity Quiz Night….Katy Robinson did an excellent job as Quiz Master - thank you.
£200 was raised which will be shared between Alzheimer's Research UK (in support for Sue Strachan’s battle with Vascular Dementia **), Ashford & St Peters Hospital Charitable Funds Account (in memory of Paula Baker) and to fund some cakes for the Woking HC Ladies Centenary event.
The Quiz consisted of 5 rounds of questions and 3 picture sheets.
After the 5 rounds of questions, “You’re a Quizzard Harry” were in the lead by 1 point from “Thorn between Mee Roses” with the youthful “No BAE” team in 8th place. You know a team is young when you have to google their team name to work out what it means!!!
However the picture rounds were decisive and led to a change in the Leader Board and the eventual winners were “Geriatric Corner” by one point from “Pass the Port” in 2nd place and “Thorn between Mee Roses” in 3rd place.
For the record:
4th Place – “You’re a Quizzard Harry”
5th Place – “It’s not the Short Corner, it’s what you do with it”
6th Place – “Oldies but Goodies”
7th Place – “Youths + Kat”
8th Place – “No BAE”
Barton’s Babes arrived late so are not included in the above results but they wouldn’t have come last!
