Ali Allcock and Paula Nicholas bring home the medals

Congratulations to Ali Allcock and Paula Nicholas who both came back with medals from the Exin Masters World Cup, held in Terrassa, Spain this summer. Ali Allcock represented England O55’s, and won gold after beating Australia in the final and Paula Nicholas represented England O45’s returned with a silver, after a narrow defeat against Holland in their final.

Camps, was also there as coach to the Welsh O40’s team. June Blythe was also selected for the England O55’s, but was sadly unable to play due to injury. We wish her well with her recovery.

They all report what an amazing experience it was, with so many countries participating and a very high standard of hockey. The tournament took place during the height of the heatwave, with some matches being played in 40 degree temperatures. We can remind Ali of this when she complains of how cold she is every Saturday during the coming winter !
